Our Story

Changing Lives was founded by Elise B. on March 11, 2022. Elise started this company because of her first hand experience with caring for family members, people close to her, the under-served and disadvantage and those who are struggling with substance abuse, mental illness and intellectual disability. Elise became passionate about helping those who needed a little direction. When she discovered how many people were being discriminated against for being different and the limited resources available to them. She knew she could not longer sit still and pretend these issues didn’t affect her. Because she had firsthand experience while dealing with the challenges she faced, caring for her brother and having a child who was different. She understood the assignment and began working hard to face these challenges head on and developed better ways to help.   

Elise realized there are lots of people out here that are overwhelmed by circumstances that are beyond their control. She knew all too well because she walked a mile in their shoes already as a care givers to family members who mentally ill and had substance abuse issues. Changing Lives was created to provide a better way because we know its tough when you don’t have enough options or resources available to help you when you need it the most. Not everyone has the support system her family had in her and because of the struggles she faced, she felt it was her duty to provide support to individuals who need it. Giving people the options to live in affordable communities that support them and accept them for who they are, while understand their financial situation, may seem small but when you are out of options and have nowhere to turn, it is the best blessing anyone could give you and because we know this, it is our driving force for pressing forward.   

Changing Lives is not just your typical organization. We build communities that link individuals to community support services that will aid them in successfully navigating through life without 24 hour support. These services aid with preparing individuals for life and help prepare them to live in the community with the most success possible. Our communities feel like home because everyone is accepted for who they are and their voices matter here. We are a corporation of people caring for individuals who are just like us in so many ways. We understand there are illnesses and differences between us that can cause division but just because we choose to be divided, does not make us better than anyone. We are one, valuable and have a contribution to this life. We know God places everyone here for a reason and we know he doesn’t make mistakes. We build communities that help individuals reach their full potential with respect and dignity. It takes a community to foster abilities and we are a well oiled community that believes in everyone.
